Commemorative #14 Serigraph by Patrick Nagel
This has always been a favorite. There is just something about this woman, fresh from getting out the swimming pool with her swim top falling off: she couldn't care less. Maybe it is the blue lips, cheek bones, and utter look of being in control. A friend of mine looked at this Nagel print and said, "How vampiric!" How true.
Nagel painted a prototype for this piece. It appeared in the April 1983 Playboy.
Were other editions released? Yes. A much smaller, unlimited edition lithograph print titled "Dakota" was released. It was published by Lipman Publishing in coordination with the estate of Patrick Nagel.
