This print is one of four in the Sanctuary Series. The other three images are Sunset on Ninepipe, Ripple, and Yellowstone Magic. This print features the Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge, in northwest of Missoula. The piece shows one of the many lovely and quiet ponds filled with reeds, which makes the refuge such a prime habitat for the many bird species protected there, such as Western Meadowlark, Great Blue Herons and Nuthatches. "While floating rivers and canoeing quiet waters near my home in Western Montana. I sketched studies that inspired these images. Our rivers, lakes and wetlands are among our most precious natural resources, and I believe their protection and preservation is vital."
