'In the image Lola Beats, I wanted to capture on canvas how drum patterns motivate my paintings. The snapping of snare hits and triumphant symbol crashes stirs creativeness inside me. Percussional instruments also transcend many cultural and generational boundaries, much like art. From ancient to modern day sounds, the beat of a drum continues to dictate the steps in our lives.'
