about this piece
Chris Owen's working cowboy themes are a representation of authentic, operating rach activities. He paints predominantly with gouache. Mr. Owen majored in art at Montana State University, He was the recipient of a scholarship to the acclaimed Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, where he studied for two years. Chris exhibits annually at the Coors Western Art Exhibit in Denver, Colorado and was their official poster artist in 2003. He was selected as the 2001 limited edition print artist for the Cheyenne Frontier Days Governor's Invitational Art Show. He is recognized as a Contemporary Western artist, whose equine and cowboy images capture the energy, gestures and aura of the American West.
