This is one of the very last prints actually personally signed by Charles Wysocki before his death in 2002.
Gull's Nest is the fifth release in the Legacy Collection. Recognized worldwide as one of the foremost painters of Americana, Charles Wysocki's endless creativity and skill continues to delight collectors and admirers. Before his death in July of 2002, Charles created fourteen special paintings, then printed and signed each print. He then sealed each of these fourteen editions and put them in safekeeping to be released after his death as a lasting legacy to those who loved his work.
'Ahhhh! The lure of the sea. Who would not want to live at Gull's Nest?' says the artist's son Matt Wysocki. 'My father's love of Cape Cod and the whole east coast seashore really shines through on this image,' he continues. 'Where else could one find two of my father's favorite delectable foods in one place? Lobster and watermelon. Whenever we took family trips to New England, my father would be in lobster heaven! And, I really don't know how much watermelon is grown back east, but it was always my father's favorite summer fruit. It is no wonder 'Gull's Nest' is part of the Legacy Collection, and included in the images my father loved best.'
