Myung Sik Kim was born in Kodegi, a small town near Seoul, South Korea in 1949. Due to gradual modernization, Kodegi has disappeared over time, but it made a lasting impression on Kim. He describes his origins as such, "East, where the sun rises, has been the beginning of the day, and is a symbol of purity in my mind.' After receiving both his Bachelors and Masters Degree in Fine Art at Choong-Ang University in Seoul, he has enjoyed a successful career as a "painter's painter.' >>click here for more
