Nancy O'Toole

Artist Biography

Nancy O'Toole was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and moved to Vancouver at an early age. She studied art as a child at the Vancouver Art Gallery and went on to a career in nursing. Always fascinated by art, however, she returned to her painting after her children were born and studied portrait painting. This eventually evolved into the painting of floral and landscapes which have become her signature subjects of art, prints and posters.

Although comfortable with a variety of media in her art, prints and posters, Nancy O'Toole is very prolific in acrylics. Her paintings are of an impressionistic style, and she strives for intensity and luminosity of color in her paintings, be they landscapes or floral.

As a full time artist, who is actively involved in the British Columbia art community, Nancy O'Toole travels and instructs many workshops and demonstrations throughout Canada. Nancy has enjoyed many successful exhibitions of her art, prints and posters throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Washington , and California, and her work has been published extensively and distributed worldwide.
