Gary Moss

Artist Biography

Intrigued with the possibilities art offered in high school, Gary Moss received his formal art training at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. A native of Minnesota, during college, Moss was selected to study in Holland; however, his most challenging and rewarding educational experience was learned while serving in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he served as a combat artist and earned the title, Combat Artist of the Year.

After returning from Vietnam, Moss used his educational experience and artistic talent in the field of graphic design. A success in the commercial art industry, Moss sought the freedom and fulfillment he experienced in his early years of painting art, prints and posters.

Recalling from Vietnam that the art, prints and posters reflecting passion and strong emotion were his most successful, Moss turned to art full time and incorporated this lesson into his own passion for waterfowl and the outdoors.
