Daniel Smith has become one of America's most revered wildlife artistst. In 1983, while working as a commercial artist, he won the Minnesota Pheasant Stamp competition. Soon after, he began devoting himself full-time to his art.
The National Geographic Society recognized Smith's talent and commissioned him to paint five plates for "The Field Guide to the Birds of North America" and the Birds in Art Exhibition at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum.
Smith's art, prints and posters are dramatic with detailed wildlife set against breathtaking backgrounds. Collectors eagerly await each new release. Caring deeply about the environment, Smith's art has been used to raise funds for conservation efforts world-wide.
