about this piece
In the 1850's Norwegian Moravians established a settlement on the hills overlooking beautiful Eagle Harbor, calling it Ephraim, meaning -- Twice Blessed. Familiar church steeples stand above the village as witnesses to that heritage. Charles Peterson pictures them here on a Sunday afternoon in his fine art print, resting quietly under threatening skies as a sudden burst of sunlight offers a metaphoric promise of salvation, as well as real hope for a brighter tomorrow. You can see the steeples of the Moravian Church and the Lutheran Church 1 block north.

Keep in mind that there are only 600 signed and numbered prints in this low edition. It is printed on authentic watercolor paper for a look so close to the original that they are almost indistinguishable.

Twice Blessed is the second in the A Week in Door County, a 7 print series. One for each day of the week.
