Tracy Barnum

Born in England, Tracy Barnum began traveling as a child and has lived in several different countries. As a result, her art, prints and posters have been inspired by many diverse cultures, from the designs of pottery in Turkey to the wildflowers of Jordan and Scotland.

Her recent watercolor exhibition at the Intercontinental Hotel in Amman, Jordan showcased varied influences and endeavors. Working mainly in watercolors and gouache, Barnum gravitates toward painting natural plant forms. Flowers are a favorite subject as she enjoys combining realistic floral images with decorative elements to create aesthetically pleasing art, prints and posters.

Barnum states, "The patterns and drama created by intertwined flower stems or the discovery of a particularly beautiful bloom will often dictate the direction of a new piece.” She frequently volunteers in the art department at her daughter's high school where, "I'm always learning something new.” After a life of traveling adventure, Tracy Barnum now makes her home in Texas where she has ample experiences to draw from and expand upon in her art, prints and posters.
