Starlie Sokol-Hohne was born in 1958 in Santa Monica, California. Starlie completed her studies at UCLA in 1980. She enjoys equestrian riding in the woods and canyons near her home. This activity inspires her to express the way in which nature is extremely abstract as well as realistic through her art, prints and posters.
Using these quiet times helps to rejuvenate her creative powers for even greater expression and self-fulfillment. Exhibiting nationally since the early 80's, Starlie's art, prints and posters are held in numerous private, public and corporate collections.
As with Rauchenburg, the final art, prints and posters are the result of the unique combination and juxtaposition of photographic images, physical collage, and hand painting blend these elements into a more cohesive and realistic perspective. The result is the reality of her idealized image. It is that unique result which is distinctively a Sokol.
