Robert Lebron

Artist Biography

Robert Lebron discovered his passion for art at an early age. After moving from New York to Puerto Rico he spent his early years with his fisherman cousin who told Lebron about the perils of the sea. Inspired by these tales, Lebron and his cousin would illustrate these stories on old paper bags, demonstrating their interest in the world of art, prints and posters.

It wasn't until Robert Lebron returned to New York a few years later that his talent was recognized when he won admission to New York City's prestigious high school for music and art, a precursor to his successful art, prints and posters.

Robert Lebron's paintings, art, prints and posters continue to reflect his favorite theatrical and literary heroes. Many of the details in his paintings feature favorite characters from his childhood including a tiny dog (present in each painting) inspired by the comic strip, "Dickie Dare".
