According to Michael Godard, he has known since early childhood that "paint flowed through his veins." He graduated from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas with a major in Fine Arts, and then attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasedena. He started his career as a freelance illustrator for such major corporations as Coca Cola, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Dodge.
