Artist Biography

Some say Mary Baxter St. Clair entered the world with a brush in her hand. Others remark that she paints with fairy dust. All are touched by her sense of wonder and marvel at her beautifully detailed art, prints and posters of wide-eyed children, ethereal angels, elusive fairies and piquant pixies, richly dressed in brilliant colors.

"Fairies and angels have been part of my life since I was small and have always been very real to me." Mary Baxter St. Clair claims to borrow their magic in her art, prints and posters, painting with such realism as to create a longing in the viewer to believe her cherubs are real, and caught unaware, on her canvases. The artist believes that fantasy is necessary and helps us to remain balanced in this all too real world.

Mary Baxter St. Clair was born in St. Clair Shores, Michigan and now resides on the island of Kauai where she often explores the fantastic underwater world and cheers at passing whales while working on her art, prints and posters.
