Artist Biography

Marianne Dunn

Marianne Dunn was recently honored by Wesleyan College, her alma mater, with an award for Outstanding Achievement in a Profession. A well-known artist and educator, her art, prints and posters hang in numerous public and private collections including Coca Cola, Invesco, Emory University, Mercer University, Norell Corporation and Northwest Memorial Hospital.

Dunn works in several different mediums, including oil, acrylics, watercolor and pastel. Her art, prints and posters embody a unique style of color and design, breaking the forms of nature into bold, almost abstract shapes and patterns. Although she paints a wide range of subject matter, she favors landscapes and gardens, as she is happiest when painting out of doors.

Originally from Florida, Marianne Dunn studied at The Parsons School of Design in New York before receiving her fine arts degree from Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. She began her career as a fashion artist in Atlanta and also worked as a courtroom artist. Currently, Dunn lectures and leads workshops at the Wesleyan Center for the Arts. Dunn frequently travels to Europe and Asia visiting museums, viewing art, sketching, painting, and gathering inspiration for future art, prints and posters.
