Lisa Linch

Artist Biography

Lisa Linch is a Romantic Modernist whose art, prints and posters have been acquired by collectors across the country. She sets a table filled with metaphor and promise, writing her thoughts directly on the canvas and surrounding them with newspapers, tickets, stamps and mementos from the real world. These canvases are saturated with an unsentimental nostalgia for certain cities of the heart.

As a child, Lisa Linch accompanied her father to art classes at the Chicago Art Institute and the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Florence,Italy, where she sat on the floor with her little sketchbook and worked diligently. She also developed her lifelong habit of keeping sketchbook journals. Later, the two forms merged and art and literature became one discipline. She does not leave a painting until it has a certain rich quality, one reason for her successful art, prints and posters.
