Jennifer Perlmutter

Artist Biography

Jennifer Perlmutter, a native Californian artist from Napa, CA, had a background in specialty finishing and furniture; she decided to take her unique skills out of the workshop and into the art, prints and posters world.

"Layers of sumptuous color. Intriguing textures. Gilding. Abstraction and simplicity. They attract and influence me; they are prevalent throughout my work. My art is meant to captivate, to draw the viewer into a different world - a world where there's more to find, contemplate and satisfy than what first meets the eye. Jennifer first developed an interest in unusual finishes of showroom furniture and found herself inspired to take the "depth, color variation and finishing expertise to a purely creative level." She experimented with mediums such as metal leaf, plaster, oils, acrylics, wax, wood, and paper in order to create sophisticated but elemental expression in her art, prints and posters.
