James Gurney

A dreamer since childhood, James Gurney received a degree in anthropology from UC Berkely and studied further at the Pasadena Art Center College of Design. With the technical skills in place, Gurney began to bring his dreams to life.

Dinosaurs weren't 'cool' when James Gurney was a boy, but he was fascinated with them after he saw the skelton of an Allosaurus at a museum in California. He'd dream that the skelton came to life and roamed the halls after the doors were locked at night.

James Gurney began to paint a world where dinosaur's lived among people. His two "Dinotopia" books, rich in detail and imagery have earned world-wide acclaim, and collectors the world over eagerly seek his art, prints and posters.
