Gregory Wilhelmi

An accomplished colorist and skilled draftsman, Greg Wilhelmi's magical landscape art, prints and posters capture the imagination of viewers across the nation. Describing his style as traditional impressionism, Wilhelmi follows in a long tradition of utilizing light and color with a stylistic flair. Short, quick brushstrokes and a bold use of highlights create a sense of movement and energy that flows through his paintings. Often his use of streams and paths lead the viewer deep into his creative vision of sunlight forests and fields.

Wilhelmi is a proficient and prolific painter who began his career as an illustrator and graphic designer. He attended Montana State University and the University of Denver in pursuit of a degree in art. Later he became a tenured faculty member at the Colorado Institute of Art. Wilhelmi's art, prints and posters are represented in hundreds of corporate and private collections.

His art, prints and posters reflect a wide variety of life's explorations and travels, encompassing studies of Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean. However, after 25 years, Wilhelmi closed his Denver studio and returned to Montana where he grew up and where he has always received inspiration from the land. He now lives and works close to Roundup.
