The epic imagery of Gil Dellinger is impressive in its depictions of vast territories, towering cliffs and sunlit plains. Grandeur of form and brilliance of light interplay to create visions of American beauty in Dellinger's art, prints and posters.
From a distance his art, prints and posters appear photographic, yet upon closer investigation one can see unblended strokes, which create a mosaic of colors. Dellinger states, "I've always been fascinated by light and its effect on color and texture. I try to emphasize the positive in my work. Something that uplifts and enhances. I love the greatness of this country and strive to compliment it with what I do.”
Dellinger lives and works in the Bay Area. As a teacher at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, he has been honored with their prestigious Distinguished Faculty Award. Having a great respect for technique, he advocates that an artist must master the fundamentals of drawing and painting. Once the artist is confident in this expertise no landscape is too vast or bold. Dellinger's art, prints and posters are represented in several galleries on both coasts of the United States and is included in various private and corporate collections.
