Douglas Huebler

Artist Biography

A leader in the development of Conceptual Art in the 1960s, Douglas Huebler was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he got his start creating art, prints and posters.

Douglas Huebler produced works in numerous media often involving documentary photography, maps and text to explore social environments and the effect of passing time on objects through his art, prints and posters.

For twenty years, Douglas Huebler was also Dean of the California Institute of Arts, a reflection of his reputation as a successful creator of art, prints and posters.
