Artist Biography

Camille Przewodek

Camille Przewodek is a plein air painter whose light-filled landscapes are alive with vibrant color. Her art, prints and posters are distinctive for their rich saturation of hues and for luscious oil paint. She is committed to capturing the hidden colors of nature and the nuances of changing light. "I paint light, that's what I do. When people say they like a painting that has bright colors in it, they obviously like sunny days. For others the appeal is found in the cooler colors of gray days.'

Following training at Wayne State University where she earned a BA in Fine Art and illustration training at the Academy of Art college in San Francisco she worked for many years as a highly successful illustrator with clients such as Alfa Romeo, Chevron and the Los Angeles Times Magazine. But it was at the Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown, Massachusetts that she found her greatest inspiration where she studied with Henry Hensche learning to see color by observing and painting art, prints and posters, not through theory.

She is a co-founder of the Pacific Academy of Fine Arts, and a signature member of the Laguna Plein-Air Painters Association. She has exhibited he art, prints and posters widely in one-person and group exhibits, continues to teach painting workshops and has received numerous awards including First Place Painting in the 2000 Sausalito Art Festival.
