Artist Biography

Bruce Bleach

Bruce Bleach's dramatic relief paintings and unique art, prints and posters on paper allow us to travel into an abstract world of form, color and space. As you traverse this visual world, the artist surrounds you with a strong geometric framework. This allows the viewer to experience the subtle color shifts, strong textural forms and playful architectural elements that blend into a rich and interesting visual statement.

The artist is well-known for his monoprints, created with oil-based inks, hand-colored and often set with collage elements. He also produces zinc, plastic, and steel plate etchings in limited editions, and large textural acrylics on canvas or aluminum. Bleach's most recent commissions are elegant metal wall sculptures created in etched bronze, aluminum, and copper on wood. Installations include a twenty-foot modular piece for Motorola Corporation and a large-scale globe in etched and painted aluminum for Johnson and Johnson Corporation.

Bleach received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Hartford Art School and his Master of Fine Arts from the State University of New York at New Paltz, NY. Listed in Who's Who in American Art, Bleach has exhibited extensively and is recognized internationally for his etchings, monoprints and art, prints and posters. Selected collections include AT and T, IBM, and Price Waterhouse.
