Douglas Hofmann

Artist Biography

Born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1945, Douglas Hofmann received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art. There, the techniques of the old masters were imparted to him, which he now uses in combination with his own ideas in his art, prints and posters.

Meticulous attention is given to lighting, form, balance and detail work. Backgrounds are tranquil, allowing his subjects to be the primary focus. His images glow with a sensitivity that highlights the beauty of the human form.
