Artist Biography

Don Roth

The whimsical "Kool Kat' art, prints and posters of artist Don Roth confirm what every cat lover suspects, cats are not only cool, but they live a secret life that others know nothing about. "The world is a serious and stressful place to live,' says Roth. "If I can bring a chuckle or a smile to the face of my viewers with my paintings, then we are both all the better for it.' Roth believes that in our fast-paced society, art provides a form of lasting fulfillment.

The son of a successful Detroit auto designer, Roth excelled in art during high school and college. After serving as an illustrator of art, prints and posters for four years in the Navy, Roth worked as a one-man art department in Orange, California. The next fifteen years were spent honing his technical skills while working as an illustrator for the Boeing and McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Companies in Long Beach, California, creating hundreds of photo-realistic commercial aircraft interiors, including designs for Air Force One and Saudi Arabia's king.

A member of the American Society of Portrait Artists and the American Society of Classical Realism, Roth has been commissioned by a number of Beverly Hills clients. Now working as a fine artist full-time, his original art, prints and posters can be found in both corporate and private collections as well as galleries in Southern California
