Artist Biography

Karen Hillard Good was born and raised in the heart of the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania where she still finds inspiration for her distinctive artwork featuring traditional American Folk Art motifs with a touch of modern whimsy. Known to her friends as Queenie, Karen's wonderful sense of humor, poetic sensibility, and true free-spirit shine through in every painting. Whether creating memorable holiday characters or painting richly textured vignettes, Karen's use of patterns and clever sayings throughout her art, prints and posters gives her a unique look and feel.

Karen Hillard Good's inspiration for her art, prints and posters comes from her family and friends. "My purest joys are family, friends, listening to good music and painting pictures," she says. Her use of good cheer, sage advice, and quick wit within her paintings grows from the large circle of warmth and support that surrounds her. Karen designs products with them in mind, whether creating journals that she gives to friends or designing dinnerware that she would use with her family.

Due to her versatility as an artist and designer and distinctive style, Karen Hillard Good continues to find success as she expands her product range. She has designed the Homestead Pottery Collection and created a brand new Collection entitled Ordinary Women, among other works of art, prints and posters.
