A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Adam Santana made a pilgrimage to England and Spain in his early 20's to explore his cultural roots. While in Europe, he studied painting and discovered the art, prints, posters and writings of Wassily Kandinsky and the ideas of theosophy.
Kandinsky's writings about the spiritual in art became a strong influence in Santana's approach to art-making.
His recent art, prints and posters, reflecting his love of Moorish architecture, celebrate the process of "ecstatic vision” and the spiritual harmony of colors.
